Miriam (Mussia) Jochelman Peled currently serves as President of KOSH 9009, she was elected in February 2015 as the first woman to lead a Kosher food safety certification agency. She is an educator, speaker, second generation of Holocaust Survivor Parents. Born in Postavy, Republic of Belarus, formerly the U.S.S.R, Miriam holds a B.A. in Art Education/Art Therapy, Master Degree from Seton Hall University in Judeo-Christian Holocaust Studies, and attended the Yiddish I.L. Peretz School, where Judaism was fostered, along with other secular subjects. Her professional work experience includes her current position which she has held for 5 years as VP of Operations for Guberman-PMC, LLC, an internationally recognized quality management consultancy. Previously she served as the Lead Kashrut advisor for the Industrial Leaders Group’s Kosher Department, as well as senior auditor for G-PMC Registrars, in which she received numerous awards. She is currently serving a three year term as Chairwoman of CWOB 9009, the nation’s fastest growing quality management certification program for women-owned businesses. Miriam has lived and/or traveled to Israel, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, France, Italy, Russia and other countries teaching others of Jewish history, and its cultural, and social challenges. Through Miriam’s leadership and strong values rooted in her Jewish faith and heritage, combined with her professional work experience, international travels, and understanding of Kashrut laws, KOSH 9009 continues to prosper as a leading Kosher food safety certification program bringing guidance, strength, diversity and purpose to businesses worldwide.
Rabbi Yosef Torenheim serves as an Advisor for KOSH 9009. Rabbi Torenheim received Rabbinical Ordination Yoreh-Yoreh (Smicha) in 1973 from the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim Lubavitz Brooklyn, New York; and in 1975 – he received Judicial Rabbinical Ordination (Dayonus) from Rabbi I.I. Piekarski – Chief Rabbi of Queens New York, and Rosh Yeshiva of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim Lubavitz in Brooklyn, New York. In 1973, he received certification as a ritual-slaughterer (shochet) under the auspices of Kollel Avreichim – Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. Rabbi Torenheim currently serves as chief Rabbi of the Beth Din of Congregation Mishkan Israel in Trumbull, CT. Rabbi Torenheim has been actively involved in cutting-edge, kosher supervision. In 1974 he set up & directed kosher supervision for Menorah Kosher Poultry in Willimantic, Connecticut beginning in 1975 to present. He is the chief Mashgiach (supervisor) for Beth Din Tzedek of Khillas Kodesh-Mishkan Yisroel, Trumbull, CT and has spearheaded many projects involving Kosher supervision & services. In 1979-1981 Rabbi Torenheim received Adjunct-Professor status from Columbia University and instituted Kosher Supervision Certification program for undergraduate students. From 1980 to 1985 Rabbi Torenheim implemented a new, state-of-the-art, Kosher supervision program at Zeisler’s Bakery Corporation, Bridgeport, CT, a major producer of fresh & frozen baked goods in New England. Rabbi Torenheim currently serves as the primary control & logistics supervisor for Y&F Foodservice and Catering, Easton, CT. Rabbi Torenheim currently holds certification from ServeSafe – National Restaurant Association; ARC, Washington, DC. Rabbi Torenheim currently resides in Trumbull, CT with his wife and family.
Moshe Hineman serves as the President of KOSH 9009 and Kosher Director. Born in Germany, Mr. Hineman became a spiritual leader in Berlin beginning in the 1970’s, and has written numerous articles on Kosher law and practices throughout Europe, United States, Australia, and Israel. His tenure as Kosh 9009 President, so far, has been marked by his commitment to improve food safety in the Kosher industry. Moshe’s innovative thinking, experienced leadership, and devoted engagement in the marketplace has enabled KOSH 9009 to become a leading food safety standard that is recognized worldwide, and has since functioned as the only quality management system (QMS) recognized by the National Food Safety Council. Moshe is one of 14 spiritual leaders, quality professionals, and business owners involved in the development of KOSH 9009 which far exceeds what is usually expected of a certifier while maintaining the tradition of supervision over a growing number of national and international food related establishments.
William Tanenbaum is Director for KOSH 9009 certification division which consists of both ISO 9001 and food safety certification. Mr. Tanenbaum has 24+ years experience in quality management and is responsible for overseeing registration companies issuing KOSH 9009 certification. William has been a strong voice for Judaism and Jewish tradition, inspiring communities of all religions to work together for peace, equality and individual rights. He has many years of business experience with airline charter flight business experience from 1958 to 1965. He has successfully organized a political campaign for a New York State Assemblyman. Mr. Tanenbaum has years of commercial real estate experience and has travels regularly to Israel. He has visited every state in the USA, and is currently owner and general partner of mobile home parks in Florida.
